My husband and I have just returned from London. We toured the Tower and London Bridge and found it to be very disturbing. Today, by chance, the movie of Lady Jane played on the television. What a fascinating person!
Please complete the website if you can and thank you for the information.
Anthony - 09/04/00 18:28:18
The short life of Lady Jane was a testimony to her faith in Christ and search for goodness in men. One of which caused her mortal desruction the other hopefully her eternal salvation.

Lovely site! Having always had an interest in Lady
Jane Grey....I found it very informative. The '86
movie is a pleasure to watch again and again, and I do, but I don't believe she loved Guilford. Too young and too much turbulence in a life so young. She will forever remain tragic, yet lovely in her purity. And this site is a wonderful tribute. Keep u
the great work. The list of books and authors is helpful. Thank you.

let me know if they are truly Lady Jane.

I really enjoyed your sight. I have a question for anyone that cares: " Was there a silver shilling that Lady Jane had minted during her reign?" There was a reference to the coin in the 86 movie Jane Gray.. and please forgive me for believing something f
om a movie. It sturred me to learn more... thus the finding of your fantastic sight. Thank you, Mitch ....firstname.lastname@example.org

I am researching Lady Jane Grey since I am supposedly related to her. I have found a Mary Ann Grey born about 1789 who married Stephen Tredinnick in Cornwall in 1814. They are my great-great-great grandparents. I would love to make a connection someday be
ween Mary Ann and Lady Jane Grey! I live in the United States.

Did Guildford love Jane?
I just saw the movie,
Guildford finally loved Jane.
But I didn't know the truth.
I saw the picture of the etch.
I hope the word " Jane " was Jane Grey.....
like the movie said, they loved each other.

This website was extremely thourough and the artist of this website used correct grammar and punctuation markings. I enjoyed all the wonderful pictures and designs, though I had trouble getting into the two areas I most wanted to get to. They were Attemp

do my essay and oral presentation for my class at school. I enjoyed the books and movies listed on Lady Jane Grey also

I saw the movie on TV and just had to rent it again. It really moved and inspired me, and I wanted to find out more, which your website helped me do. I was surprised that the real marriage between Guilford and Jane was an unhappy one, but it just makes
he story more tragic and Jane more heroic in my eyes.
Tara - 01/16/00 05:31:06
I had to read a biography in my 9th grade English class, and I randomly picked the book called THE NINE DAYS QUEEN. Jane's story haunted and moved me to tears. I was rather disappointed to see in the movie that they portrait her marriage to Dudley as bein
a happy one. She had an even harder life than portrayed. She was so inspirational, surviving countless abuses, the death of the closest mother figure she had (Catherine Parr), and finally dying for her loyalty to her faith. I hope that I gain even a shred
of her morality.

I first became interested in Lady Jane Grey while in jr. high. It's been close to 30 years since then and I once again find myself interested in reading her story. I appreciated the pictures. Went to London a couple of summers ago and visited the Tower
of London. That really helps bring the truth of the story home to me. I found it interesting that in one book of Kings and Queens of England she wasn't even mentioned.

Jonathan Sandys - 11/13/99 22:46:58
A great web page, but I think you should prehaps note that Lady Jane was very determined not to marry Guildford Dudley, her mother beat her severely in order to persuade her to change her mind. (It is questionable as to whether Edward did visit her at tha
time to request she change her mind, but as she trusted neither her parents or Northumberland, it is probable that a visit may have taken place.)
gwarren - 11/12/99 13:21:00
Why is there no information on the real reason why Jane was beheaded - because she refused to give up her faith?? My daughter needed that information for a report for school! Lady Jane Grey would have been spared by Mary I, if she would have renounced h
r protestantism and become a Catholic again!

Great site! I believe that what makes Jane such an interesting historical character is her faith in God. Her letters reflect a quiet confidence, a peace and joy, that can be found only through knowlege of Him. God may well have used Jane's death and he
correspondence to touch the lives of thousands for generations to come. I am sure Jane was comforted by the words of the Apostle Paul, "O death where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

I have always been interested in Lady Jane Grey since I was a little girl. My mother nicknamed me Lady Jane when i was three. She never knew why until she saw a photo of her. I look quite alot like her. I was looking for more info on how she was prose
uted and sentenced. Great page!!

What a great idea for a website. I'm a big fan of Lady Jane Grey, and am a direct descendent of Thomas Keyes, the gatekeeper, who married Mary Grey.
- 06/01/99 02:15:38
I've always loved the tudors and i think jane's story is very sad
- 05/25/99 21:36:16
I've been interested in jane Grey for so many years.Well since I was like 7 hey that's half my life. There is like nothing on her anywhere I was so extatic when I found this page.Keep up the good work.By the way.the Jane Grey movie with Helen Abonem Carter
was really really bad.So historically inacurtae I could have died.
Teresa Eckford - 05/17/99 14:56:29
I love your site! Haven't explored it fully yet, but will definitely do so. I've added it to my History links page at my site and would like to thank you in advance for the other Lady Jane links you provided (which I've also added.) Please feel free to

Very informative and interesting, a good thing to put on the web to commemerate this almost unknown Queen.
Carly - 05/11/99 05:55:48
My complements on a beautiful and informative website. The Tudor reign in England has always been of interest to me, although I could never find very much information about Lady Jane and how she ended up on the throne. Your website has answered my quest

Clare Skeehan - 04/29/99 22:40:40
I enjoyed visiting Lady Jane but wasn't thrilled with the movie starring HBC. For one thing, I hate it when screen writers distort historical facts to make a more sensational plot. I just don't find HBC all that appealing. Almost every role I've seen h
r in, she exhibited such a sullen attitude. Having an affair with Emma Thompson's husband didn't seem very nice, either
Tracey - 04/20/99 12:46:36
This site was very well done! I like to browse the Web periodically for Tudor-related subjects and was pleased with this find. I've been a 'fan' of Good Ol'Hal and his harem for almost 30 years and so sometimes feel like I've read everything there could p
ssibly have been written. Coming across a new source of information is grand. Keep up the good work. Don't worry....I'll be back!
Marty - 04/10/99 01:30:19
Your website is so cool! I love it! I'll

Classic looking, easy on the eyes, historically accurate.
I like it!!

Catherine - 03/02/99 21:06:12
Thank you for your informative website. What a fascinating period in history - so tumultuous and tragic. It seems in-bred in humankind that we harm those with different beliefs and make the innocent our pawns. Let's hope for a better future.
Daniel Fauth - 02/25/99 01:49:24
I have long been interested in the life story of Lady Jane Grey...Queen Jane. Thank you for providing such vast information on The Lady. So many history books lightly touch on Jane's nine days as queen and many more totally ignore the fact that Jane was
indeed Queen. I'll be back for future visits!
amanda - 02/17/99 00:38:13
ever since i started this project on Queen jane (thats what I call her) i've pratically gone to each website every day!!!!!!!!
Amanda Giordano - 02/15/99 20:01:36
Ever since I first read about Lady Jane Grey she has been a favorite subject of mine, and i enjoy all web sights about her.How ever I wish that there was a larger more detailed one on the internet.Alot of the info is not correct. I would love to help or a
de in any way to put a historically accurate web page up so all could enjoy and learn.Jane was a incredible child and would of made a great Queen. She was very bright and learned, it was a true shame that she was killed.
Patricia Sherman - 02/05/99 10:16:18
My compliments. As I said before, your site is very attractively presented, and the subject is so tragic that it tears at my heartstrings. Thankyou for inviting me to return. BTW, I think that Elizabeth's father was Henry VIII, perhaps that is a typogr
phical error, otherwise everything is lovely. Blessings, Patricia (your neighbour at Parthenon/1002/)
blah - 01/24/99 06:11:21
Please kindly tell me how it is possible that Lady Jane Grey was the great-granddaughter of King Henry the VII if her mother, Frances Brandon, was the daughter of his younger sister Mary!
Ray Fisher - 01/22/99 06:22:57
It is truly great to see some interest over the
internet on Lady Jane even if it be for different
reasons. Since I first saw the movie years ago I
studied her biography some and she was a great hero of the Protestant faith. My wife as well as other women of the Reformed faith and other faiths hopefully look up to her as one of the few couragious female heros of old. She was a staunch Calvinist Chris
ian and a bold one. Many are unaware of her religious convictions. I think it would be good to discuss some of these on your site. For example the great Scottish Reformer was the chaplain to Edward VI. No doubt she was under similar tutelage. It is a sham
that few books are in print any longer.
Fran Parmer - 01/16/99 23:40:43
As an archaeologist and historian I have learned that quite a bit of Hollywood's views of historical figures is fictional. No one will know the personal feelings of a character without documents to substantiate what we hear. But the movie made for great
entertainment and we would all like to believe in true love.

Unfortunately, I'm not as big on English history as I'd like to be (being a computer programmer kinda cuts down on time. Even my website is suffering =( ).
I regularly try to look around for interesting figures. I'm definitely going to need to do some research on Lady Jane. On the side, I'm a philosopher (I've been published in a couple journals and such), and I try to make use of such stories to prove poi
ts about individualism and what power a person wields.
I have a bad feeling this site has been up a while , and has been neglected =( Nonetheless, I shall repeat MacArthur's remark...
"I Shall Return!!!"
Jen Abell - 11/26/98 22:27:29
I love the site, but do wish that you would continue your progress on it, I have visited the site numerous times in the last four months. I will love to see it completed!

A great fan of Lady Jane - 11/10/98 11:01:24
I'm so glad to see that there's so many people out there interested in Lady Jane Grey... I, myself, have been fascinated with her eversince I saw that miovie starring Helena Bonham Carter and Cary Elwes. I have to admit though that I was very disappointed
when I found out that the relationship between Guildford and Jane was far from rosy... which leads me to this "puzzlement",
if the relationship between them is as described by their biographers, how then did the inscription "Jane" turned up on the wall of the cell where he was held prisoner for treason? Was it for his Mother who was also called Jane or was it for his young wif
Well, I'll be going to London this coming Monday and I will definitely be checking out the cell where Guildford inscribed "Jane" on its wall. I think I would like to believe that Guildford and Jane were truly deeply in love with each other as portrayed by
Helena and Cary in the movie...
Justin Harlow - 11/07/98 20:02:29
I believe that it was totally unfair what her and Gilferd's parent's (or Father) did to her. I am very glad to see that people are reconizing her because there is so much history missing about her that I think it is great that you all are doing this.
Ashley - 11/04/98 18:34:16
I am doing a paper on her life and am trying to find out if the movie is accurate in the portrayl or even the idea of romance between jane and her husband. Anybody know??

You may recall that I visited your site a few weeks ago. I was quite impressed by your promising beginning, but am now somewhat disappointed to find that you,ve not added or changed anything since then. You may also recall that I mentioned the name of t
e bridge in you photo-gallery is "Tower Bridge," not "London Bridge." London Bridge is a thoroughly modern structure, having replaced the London Bridge that I knew in my childhood (during the 50's). The older London Bridge was dismantled by an American
agnate, and reassembled somewhere in the United States (Arizona?). The Brits would never consent to the removal of Tower Bridge, believe me.
Patricia Sherman - 03/17/98 10:04:21
Although your site is only just beginning to be developed, it shows true promise. The first page is very elegant, and the subject to which you are devoting yourself is most intruiging. I've always felt great sympathy for Jane, she was one of the most tr
gic women to ever grace a throne. Good luck and good wishes to you. B*B Patricia

I gave your site a ranking of 3.0 because of the lack of information, text, and pics. But I am interested to see how you develop the page. You have an interesting topic to write about so it should be fun!
